In a staff meeting about a decade ago, I took these notes. They’re still useful today.
There’s potential in you to become like a pearl. As you receive unpleasant words, directions, or criticism, your reaction determines your development. Do you receive it well?
If we have wrong thoughts, we must go to God to deal with them and to be rid of them. Don’t speak them out. We’re writing chapters in the hearts of the people who look up to us.
Look up “do not swear” verse. (I looked it up. Here it is. Matthew 5:33-35 says, “Again, you have heard that it was said to the ancients, ‘Do not break your oath, but fulfill your vows to the Lord.’ 34 But I tell you not to swear at all: either by heaven, for it is God’s throne; 35 or by the earth, for it is His footstool; or by Jerusalem, for it is the city of the great King. “)
Today, I’m reminding myself and you that there’s wisdom in other people. People wiser than you have so much to teach you today. Don’t let that wisdom be wasted. Listen to good advice. Write it down in the tablets of your heart. Save it. It will help you become the person you’re meant to be one day.
